Ultimately, we were able to distribute about 52 shoes to children within three different locations in Abuja. The program was successful and the joy on the family’s faces made the experience heartwarming.
To mark International Literacy Day, we assessed various locations within Maitama, Abuja to identify families who are less privileged and can’t provide appropriate school supplies for their children. Consequently, we resolved to donate new pairs of shoes to children because we understand that when children are comfortable in their school shoes, their mood, concentration, and ability to learn are improved. Furthermore, to ensure they have properly fitted shoes that do not become a liability, we carried out a shoe measuring session for children in Nursery and Primary school.
Ultimately, we were able to distribute about 52 shoes to children within three different locations in Abuja. The program was successful and the joy on the family’s faces made the experience heartwarming. We believe when children have well-fitted shoes, they can have better-protected feet, and improved concentration to do their best in school.
