Wasa is a community within Abuja situated in Kabusa District area. The main ethnic group is Gbagi with the majority of its occupants being farmers or entrepreneurs.
Our needs assessment at Wassa Community revealed that Malaria was one of the diseases affecting families.
To mark World Malaria Day, we visited the community with a health practitioner who gave community members basic training on Malaria, its effects, causes, and effective ways to prevent and treat malaria.
We also distributed over 200 insecticide-treated nets to families within the community. The aim was to increase their understanding of Malaria and also promote the utilization of malaria prevention methods especially the use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets in households.
