Financial Inclusion for Rural Women
Dunes Foundation
We provide women willing to start businesses and entrepreneurs with basic financial literacy training, to enhance their financial knowledge and also improve savings and economic skills so they can engage in profitable activities and have higher business income
Bank Accounts Opening
We observed from our Micro-credit Program (MCP) that more than 50% of women who took part in the program never owned a bank account. So, they had no secure place to save their money while many relied on bank accounts of their children or spouses. Hence, they had no absolute control of their funds and were deprived of financial products and services bank facilities had to offer.
Consequently, we provide women in our MCP with bank accounts, so they can store money safely, and also send and receive payments. With these accounts, they are more likely to have increased investments, better savings, business expansion, and enhanced security which can improve the overall quality of their lives.
Financial Literacy Training
One way to improve women’s wellbeing is when they have the knowledge and skills necessary to help boost their businesses. However, many rural women entrepreneurs do have access to the necessary knowledge to run successful and sustainable businesses and are forced to manage on their own or rely on advice from friends and family.
So, we provide women willing to start businesses and entrepreneurs with basic financial literacy training, to enhance their financial knowledge and also improve savings and economic skills so they can engage in profitable activities and have higher business income.
