The L.E.A primary school in Piyanko was just a block of two ill-furnished classrooms for 90 pupils. The classes were jam-packed, and there was no toilet or water in the school premises, hence students were forced to practice open defecation in bushy areas.
Therefore, we provided six well-furnished classrooms, a well-equipped library, admin blocks, toilet facilities and a cafeteria. We also provided the pupils with shoes, uniforms and school bags. As a result, many more children have enrolled in the school because they now have the resources necessary for learning.
