At Piyanko, a local community in Nassarawa state, there was no health facility, hence community members went to local healers to treat their ailments. Their second option was to spend their already limited financial resources to travel long distances to seek medical attention.
Therefore, we built a clinic for the community. The clinic contains a patient ward with a maternity bed, an office, a store, and a toilet. We also equipped the clinic with drugs and other necessary medical equipment. The local government has assigned health staff to the clinic and the staff now carries out antenatal visits, immunizations and deliveries in the clinic.
