Providing Medical Services for Less Privileged Children
Dunes Foundation partnered with NTA for the NTA Channel 5 Abuja Children’s Funfair, which took place on children’s day for the less privileged children. The children who took part in the program included children from various schools, Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDPs), Orphanages, and children living with disabilities.
We also made provisions for medical supplies as well as the services of professional medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists who provided the children with free physical examination, diagnosis, medical advice, and where possible, treatment. The Foundation’s main aim was to give families, especially children, access to free medical services. Also, we distributed mosquito nets to create awareness on malaria prevention and control.
The program was made more enjoyable for the children with good food, soft drinks, and music. The event was a success and the excess medical supplies from the program were donated to an IDP Camp.
